Steve Hayes has over 25 years' experience in the product approvals industry and serves on numerous national and international standards committees.
Industry Experience
Steve started his career as a test engineer and gradually worked up through the various positions within a test organisation, from running laboratories to taking full P&L responsibilities for company business teams.
He now heads up the advice service of Element known as Early Stage Qualification, or ESQ®.
Steve remains highly active in the technical field and sits on a number of national and international committees, writing standards. Steve is also currently the Chairman of the EMC Test Labs Association and Chairman of the European Commission’s Association of Notified Bodies relating to the EMC Directive.
Steve represents the interests of EU Notified Bodies in the European Commission with respect to the EMC Directive and acts as a contributing author to official guidance regarding the Directive and its application.
Project Experience
Steve acts as peer reviewer to ESQ® projects within Element to ensure technical correctness and accuracy.
Member of BSI GEL210/11 covering all the basic commercial EMC standards
Convenor of IEC/CISPR 11 covering emissions from ISM devices
